Meat Rabbits

Trying to set up meat rabbit breeding for our own needs, and I'm having trouble locating a breeder of New Zealand Whites or similar in the area. Does anybody know of a someone who breeds meat rabbits anywhere between Albury and Bendigo? We regularly travel from one to the other so anyone along that area will be okay.

Does anyone know about solid-liquid separator?

I am a farmer in a large chicken farm. Now I have a problem. Chicken manure is too difficult to handle. I have bought many kinds of solid-liquid separator, but I can't handle my chicken manure. Manufacturers do not know why. His explanation is that chicken dung is too sticky. Does anyone know the specific reason? Or do you have the right equipment to handle chicken manure?

HobbyFarme Insurance

Hi All, I know this is a subjective question but I am wondering how much my insurance should roughly be? I recently got a quote from Elders and its $2000. Covers fencing, irrigation, tanks, sheds, liability and house. No contents, machinery or anything else This seems pricey to me. I'm also paying some sort of Govt Stamp Duty? $207. Do I need a special hobby farm insurance? or can I get away with normal insurance?

Fireweed help

Hi , we have 25 acres . We have a 4 acres paddock that is higher up on the land that has fireweed in flower about 10cm tall it is separated by a 15 meter strip of bushland and only very small sparse fireweed in the lower paddock that we have removed by hand. What is the best way to treat it and can I spray it with a backpack sprayer ? Thanks

Bad experience with agistment

Hello I am an absent landowner and have over 200 acres in Central West NSW. When my land settled I and took on a local farmers sheep to graze down our natural pasture. He also grazed our neighbours property on what was to be rotational grazing between the properties. We were happy with the handshake deal we made because everytime we visited our property he'd supply us a fresh lamb. As the next 2 years went on the rotation of paddocks was dropped and all of a sudden more and more sheep were being added. The fresh lamb supply all but stopped.

Mulching vs slashing vs other

I’ve recently bought 430 acres near Gloucester NSW. Mix of undulating ok land, steep wooded land and plenty of land that needs restoring by removing lantana, blady grass, giant parramatta grass, small gums, tobacco bush etc etc. from what I read about mulchers, they do a great job on nice paddocks, but mine is a bit rougher. Will the mulcher cut it, or should I use a slasher. There will be rocks that jump out and surprise me here and there too. Or should I try and do the job with a forestry mulcher first mounted to the front of a skid steer? It’s quite confusing.

Tractor help - diesel pump removal

Hey All I have a Same Corsaro 70 Hp tractor. Fuel pump is leaking into the oil and I need to remove the pump. Its all unbolted but wont slide off - lose but sounds like a gear is hitting. I don't want to start removing the power steering pump unless I need to and as usual there is very little information available on ho to work on these old tractors. Anyone got any clues as to how to remove the pump. Thanks Mick
