We have spent every cent we own to buy our 40ac property. I was sold an old Kuota B6000 to do some much needed slashing, however I was not told it had no water pump and needed constant water added and yes I have cracked the head. I only paid $1000 for the tractor and it is going to cost me $1500 to get a new head from US. A mate reckons someone would be able to mend it????? Please let me know any ideas on fixing the head or a second hand one as I can't find anything and so can't afford a new one yet, cheers Ian.
Happy New Year everyone hope you enjoyed it. I have a few questions on bee keeping. I was wanting to find out how much is involved in keeping bees and if there is a profit to be made in them I am new to all this and any information would be much appreciated. Thanks Nathan
Hi I have 35 acres in central victoria and I was wanting to start farming I have never farmed before so I'm after some advice. I was thinking about running goats on the property and was wanting to know how much is involved in doing so and if it is worth it profit wise. I also thought about cropping it as well but I'm not to sure can someone suggest what I could do with the property to at least get me started. Thank you
Hi there
we a looking to start a beef cattle farm of approximately 80 to 100 cows. My question is what is the best strategy to start - buying pregnant cow so we can sell the calves shortly after? Or another option? We are aiming for this to cover the costs and make a profit. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated :)
We have recently bought 15 hectares on Queensland's Darling Downs that has around 100 olive trees established and we want to run a few cattle on the block as well.
The block has two bores with no pumps attached so we are trying to decide what will work best. We won't be living on the block so reliability is really important.
There seem to be endless options from the classic windmill to solar powered submersible pumps and many options in between. The water level on the deepest bore is at approximately 60 metres and the shallower one about 40 metres.
I started a year back researching the viability of off grid out of town, it appears if by importation and installation its done DIY it may be perfectly viable and cheaper than the grid for farms or simply large blocks outside town.
Wonder if you can give me any constructive feedback here about it. It is a bit long and chewy but i would say economically worth it.
I have a few problems with a few of my fruit trees at the moment and joined up to see if anyone on this forum has the answers. The leaves of my Goldmine Nectarine are going red and have growths on them, the outsides of the Santa Rosa Plum leaves are going brown and curling and the Crab Apple and another Plum Tree have red spots on them. Can anybody assist in what I should treat them with?
Thanks
Aidhan
