Cattle sustainability

We have just purchased 40ha at Quialigo (near Bungonia) in New South Wales and would like to find out how many cows

with calf it is safe to have on the property.  There are no buildings yet, plenty of water and improved pastures.

The previous owner has asked whether he can agist his cattle until we are ready to move forward with our plans. Curretly

there are approx 30 cows with calf. Is this too many and if so what is a safe quantity so as not to damage the property?

Paralysis ticks

Hi

We have a farm in Homeleigh Kyogle Norther New South Wales. We are running Angus cattle and have 30 head plus calves. Recently we have lost 3 cows due to paralysis ticks. One of these being diagnosed by the vet the others we assumed fell to the same fait. We have now commenced spraying cow and calves with Amitic weekly.

Understanding a dam water analysis

As I have been having trouble with urinary calculi in my wethered goats & before I put out salt blocks to encourage extra water consumption I thought it may be a good idea to have the dam water tested to see if a problem & answer to the UC lay there.

Hoping to begin a dream

Hi all!

Me and my partner are fairly young (20 and 21) but are looking at buying lnd in the next year or so and start farming. I'm from a long line of farmers, the last being my grandfathers (one being a sheep farmer and crops, the other growing up on a dairy farm), however my dad grew up on a farm, and worked there until his 20's. I studied Ag in high school and really loved it.
