Small and hobby farm consulting services

Starting out and running a small farm can be a daunting experience. Often you need someone experienced to provide advice, support and guidance. You shouldn’t rely on neighbours or second hand information, start out with the right information and reduce costly mistakes.

FarmStyle is pleased to offer the following small farm consulting packages. Currently these packages are available in New South Wales (NSW), Victoria (VIC) and South Australia (SA). If you are located in another state and are interested in any of these services please email us your details and we will be in contact with you when they become available.

1) Pre-purchase inspection package

Buying a farm of any size can be an expensive and often over whelming experience. A pre-purchase inspection is conducted by one of our experienced agricultural consultants who will provide you and your family with peace of mind. Don’t be fooled or mislead by real estate agents, get an independent opinion about the suitability of your potential farm purchase and to ensure it matches your needs and desires.

Ensure that you have identified potential opportunities and risks, so that you can negotiate with the vendor and get that lifestyle farm you have always wanted at an affordable price.

What’s included?

  • On farm pre-purchase inspection and appraisal (approximately 2-3 hours).
  • Identification of opportunities and threats (noxious weeds, feral pests and bush fire).
  • Infrastructure inspection, including farm fences, water, yards and buildings.
  • Personalised report outlining suitability of the farm, its infrastructure and location to your needs (lifestyle, farming or bush block)

Cost: Phone 0439 082 820 or email (below) for a custom quote, outlining your farms location and requested consulting packages. We do our upmost to arrange a number of farm visits in the local area to make the consulting packages affordable. In the case of more than one farm visit per local area, travel costs are distributed evenly amongst clients.

2) Farm advisory package

The affordable farm advisory package will provide you with an experienced and reputable agricultural specialist. No need to travel to field days or complete costly agricultural courses when we can provide a personalised service on your farm.

What’s included?

  • On farm visit (approximately 2-3 hours).
  • Weed/pest identification and planning/prevention.
  • Crop/pasture identification and planning.
  • Enterprise selection and management.
  • Understanding your legal obligations e.g noxious weeds.
  • Personalised report.
