Consolidating property

Dear farm expert

I would like to know what the proses and the costs are to consolidate two small neighboring properties in NSW. As I understand a property must be min 40ha in size to be able to get a building entitlement. The two properties are just over 70ha combined. Will it be worth buying with the intent to consolidate?

Thanking you

Ivan

Does anyone have this product? Anyone heard anything about them?

I saw an ad on google and did some research. The owner Ian created the product and runs the company himself. He also owns his own farm so I am inclined to believe the product works. My local store doesnt stock it but they think it would be a good idea to try. Seen the video online of how it work sand look great.

ABN number for small farm

G'day farm expert

I am in the proses of buying a small farm in northern NSW and am wondering if it will be beneficial to get an ABN number for farm purchases etc? I currently work and will most likely keep working but would like to earn a supplementary income from the farm. Could you please give me a short answer before I spend money seeing an accountant.

Napier PTO Post hole digger

Hi. I have a heavy duty Napier brand pto tractor post hole digger on my old david brown 900 tractor. I purchased a new carbide tipped auger as the old fitted auger had welded steel wear pads and not effective in basalt type rocky soil. I have just found out the Napier is the only digger with anticlockwise drive auger!!!!!

Can the drive gearing be altered. what choices do i have?

Fast growing windbreaks

Hi,

We've recently bought a small hobby farm in the south of Adelaide. We need to plant some fast growing windbreaks along part of our fence line and would like advice on the type of evergreen tree that would achieve this, and when would be the best time to plant them.

Thanks
Jbranton

Cattle sustainability

We have just purchased 40ha at Quialigo (near Bungonia) in New South Wales and would like to find out how many cows

with calf it is safe to have on the property.  There are no buildings yet, plenty of water and improved pastures.

The previous owner has asked whether he can agist his cattle until we are ready to move forward with our plans. Curretly

there are approx 30 cows with calf. Is this too many and if so what is a safe quantity so as not to damage the property?
