Hello everyone
Husband and I purchased 30 acre block almost two years ago. We still work in Brisbane and commute to here most weekends with the plan to semiretire/retire here full time.
The special thing about the block we purchased is that it is 8km up the road from where my great great grandfather settled when he came here from Scotland. I visited the farm as a girl; it was then owner by my great uncle.
Love the area; we’ve just built a house and trying to manage the land which had a lot of dead trees, pest flora. We also are now negotiating with our neighbour who wants to replace the fencing on his boundaries.
I’m hoping for some advice. He wants to put in ring lock fencing; but we way to get a couple of horses and I believe this is risky for them?
We can’t afford state of the art horse fencing but from my research, barbed wire is still safer than ring lock? And a lot cheaper !
Any advice much appreciated!
