Thanks to the reply to my last post regarding the age of a bull becomming fertile.

I was wondering what is the process of having my cow spayed? If it is a costly process and what stresses this may put on the cow?

I also have another calf which is coming up to 6months or so now and am wondering if she can still run with our bull who is now about 7months? I dont want to breed her for at least another 16-18 months but am not sure when she will first come into heat?

I am also worried that our bull may have 'had a go' at the cow i want to get spayed already and am just wondering what the options are if she is already pregnant and what might be the early signals of her pregnancy? I have been segregating the bull when the cows are on heat but im not sure if i segregated him in time.

I would also like to know if you have any suggestions on the best grasses to grow for them? I am planning on sowing rye shortly but would be interested to know if there are any better suggestions?
