We thought we would join up and see what this is all about. We use the term 'Farming' very loosely as we do not really farm on our six acres. Half of it is rainforest and permanent creek. We have a 130 year old Colonial house and try to do the sustainability thing as mush as possible. We have a huge vegie garden which continues to expand. As you can tell it really is a hobby/lifestyle farm 100% subsidised from off farm income. We would like to use one acre or so for some form of income but have not come up with a product that is viable for such a small area.

G'day, I am looking into buying a small farm in the Omeo Valley region to run cattle. What size land would be required to run a farm that can provide a stable income? I was thinking of running smaller cattle as I hear they are easier to work with. I am looking anywhere between 200-500+ acres. My aim is to live comfortably, not to make copious amounts of money. Any ideas?

Hi all,
          We have just killed a few of our own lambs off our hobby farm and and we have a freezer full of assorted lamb cuts. Does anyone have any recipe ideas for lamb?
