Getting excited for the future

My wife and I are just going through the motions to purchase our very own property.  14 acres with a lovely home.

We have some big plans.  Raising some cows, chooks, very large veggie beds, fruit trees, grapes, is just the start.  Really want to become self-sufficient.  It's a bit of a dream come true to start this.

Looking forward to visiting this site and getting lots of information, share ideas and the progress.

Simon.

Hi

We have owned our place for 25+ years & farm cattle. Our boundary fences are a mix of plain, barbed & electric & keep our cattle in.

Hello,

My partner and I are in the process of buying a small acreage on the mid-North coast of NSW. We have found a propery we like and going through the motions of making an offer. We are from Sydney so this is very new to us.

I'm looking forward to learning about appropriate livestock, farming practices, gardening and sustainability with our new lifestyle. We will need to secure some work to start with and hopefully be less reliant on later on.

Crop field map in New South Wales

Hi ALL,

I am student in The University of New South Wales. I am now studying the crops in the Coleambally Irrigation Area. I am looking for a map that contains the spatial distributions of crops in that area, i.e., the crop type planted in each field. Does anyone have information on this? Thank you very much!

Regards, Bob.

Water tanks for drinking water

Hi Everybody,

We've purchased a block with a shed house on and our longer term plan is to build our own house and new sheds.  We aim to have water tanks to collect rainwater from each of the new buildings but we're not sure what type of tank is suitable so that we can use the water for domestic purposes (particularly drinking).

Introduction to the community

Hi all very happy to have discovered this gem, I have for the last 4-5 years been raising Rabbits and Ducks and the occasional rooster for meat and livestock in our small property at Seacombe heights, by far the rabbits have been the best and most enjoyable and least hassle of all the animals.
