G'day from Murrumbateman

G'day Team,

Jolls here. New to farming; just purchased 7 acres with 12 chooks and a small orchard. Was used by the previous owner for horses; looking to introduce small cattle - Galloways probably (not that I have found any for sale yet). Looking forward to learning from the wisdom of others as opposed to gaining experince by mistakes wherever possible. I do have a plan B if farming proves to be too hard: at least now I have a big enough shed to restore my classic bikes!

Cheers and Beers

Sheep and goat producers in Western Australia are now required to record mob-based movements on the National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) database.

Department of Agriculture and Food Brands Registrar Farran Dixon said the new recording requirements were designed to accelerate the tracing of sheep and goats in the case of a disease outbreak or the detection of a residue in meat, milk or fibre.
