Portable milking machine

Hi, my friesian cow has just given birth 5 days ago and we have been advised that we will need to milk her as she is producing too much milk. We are doing this twice a day but it seems to take us ages to get alot of milk out with both of us doing it at the same time only due to us being new to the milking game.

Am wondering if anyone could give me some advice as to whether I should just buy a portable milking machine.

Small farms exports

Hi All,

I'm a University student, and while not a farmer, I am tasked with developing an innovation that would assist the agricultural industry.

I need some feedback on my idea, and given I’m only a city slicker (although I don’t intend to be forever) I don’t have the country connections I require! As such, I figured this lovely community is a great place to connect and get some feedback!

Advice on paddock agreement

Hello Yesterday our offer for our new farm was accepted and arenin the process of exchanging ontracts. The property is 40ac and divided into a 10ac paddock and a 30ac paddock. The 30ac paddock has a neighbours cows grazing on it under a personal agreement for him to do so. When we inspected the property we couldn't access the paddock because it was locked. I asked the real estate agent why I couldn't access the 30ac paddock and he said a neighbour keeps cows. My issue is: I'd like access to this paddock once the settlement goes through.

Small tractor for 10 acre hobby farm at Nanango

Hi all,

Interested in purchasing a small tractor with slasher and bucket, our block is moderately elevated so I am assuming a 4WD model would be the go.

Also have read some reports about Korean tractors including the Kioti brand and as I have had no experience with tractors I thought a question on this forum would be invaluable.

Kind regards,

Michael.

Hamilton Sheep Handler

G'day Guys, I have just purchased a second hand Hamilton double sided sheep Handler to assist in the husbandry tasks for our small flock of Dorpers. I know it is a long shot; but, would anyone happen to have a user manual that they could scan and send to me? I have searched high and low for something on the Internet with no luck.

Dam help

Hi ,this is my first post so forgive me if my questions sound odd??? I recently put a dam on our property 10 acre hobby farm .and although the people digging the dam were experienced my dam will not hold water.we dug down to hard clay, and put a 4 meter base narrowing to a 2.5meter top.it has been full to the top twice in the last few months.it takes about 3-5days to drain complete.there are dams further along on next doors property. And very (you could water ski on them ) large dams opposite.some of the old stagers around here are saying that it has to fill up 3-4times before it seals ??
