Possibility of visiting Adelaide Hills small farm

Hi I'm new to 'Farmstyle'! My family and I are looking at establishing ourselves on small average in the Adelaide Hills. The first step was to relocate into the local area which we have done. We're now on the look out for the perfect plot of land to start our farming lives. I would love to know if anyone in the local area is willing to allow me to visit there small farm so we can ask some questions and get a idea of what we are getting ourselves into. Cheers Damien

Hi Damien,

Welcome to Farmstyle andthe small farming forum. The best thing they can do is to contact the Adelaide and Mt Lofty Ranges NRM Board

http://www.naturalresources.sa.gov.au/adelaidemtloftyranges/home

They have a good community engagement program and regularly run events, workshops and short courses on land management to help small landholders. A calendar of events is listed on their website.  Our consultant often present at these and there are always a few attending who are looking to buy. This would be a very useful start. Contacting a local landcare group would also be a good idea.

Regards,

Charlie
