Hello, hoping to make a living from farming before too long.

Hello,

I am have been a climbing Arborist (tree man) for over fifteen years now and am trying to make a transition into farming. I have been doing my own research for some years now and was glad to find this great website, good stuff. I currently live in Newcastle NSW and hope to lease some land for farming soon, with the intention of buying a small farm when I can, (would involve selling my house in Newcastle).

I am interested in natural farming with little or no chemical use, a big fan of Joel Salatin and his multi species soil improving techniques and would love to have a go myself. I am also interested in industrial Hemp and am a firm believer in its potential as a chemical free crop in Australia.

As an arborist I have been dealing with timber and mulch for years, I would very much like to get involved in large scale composting of mulch from tree works and  would also like to do some milling of timber that would otherwise become firewood. I am also very interested in Biochar and the potential to produce it from waste products.

I look forward to exloring FarmStyle into the future and will no doubt learn alot from everyone out there.

Thanks

Liam
