Mudgee farm - how many cattle can i run?

Hi there,

 

I'm consideirng my first farm investment - something I'm been considering for a while now!

 

The property is located 30kms north of Mudgee - 260 acres. I'd like to work out the no of head of cattle / it is fenced into 4 paddocks.

 

Just a start but will have more quetsions.

Hi David,

I can give you an estimate of the average stocking rate or dry sheep equivalent (DSE), however will need to know some further details.

Are the pastures improved or naturalised (native)?

Do the pastures have a history of fertiliser (phosphorus, potassium or sulphur) being applied? If so how often?

There are lots of other variables, grazing management, rainfall, soil type, etc that can also influence the stocking rate.
