Anyone willing to help a young family get expereince farming/country life?

Hi there,

I have 3 kids ages 6,4 and 2 and we live in the city of melbourne. It has been a dream of mine to show them the country/farm lifestyle but have not been able to do this. We dont have any family or any friends that own farms.

I was hoping if anyone out there may have the heart/interest to allow me to bring my young family to visit and spend some time on your farm that would mean so much to me and my childrens life experiences. I really desperately want my kids to get to experience the amazing joy farming life can bring.

Please let me know if you can help in anyway and i am more than happy to repay you in anyway i can.

Regards,

Fiona.

Hi Fiona,

It is wonderful that you would like to educate and give your children a farming experience. Too many city children don't know where their food comes from and think that milk and meat is made at the supermarket.

Anyone who is involved in large or small farming can play a role in educating others and being a farming advocate.

The best idea is for you to sign up to FarmDay (May 26 & 27, 2012), this is where a farm family hosts a city family for a day of real hands-on experiences and a greater understanding of the day-to-day life of the farming family. To register and find out more information, click here.

Alternatively one of this websites members, who is located close to Melbourne may be able to offer their farm for you to visit.
