Looking at purchasing 10 acres far Northern NSW

Hi all, Been researching over the net and stumbled over this gem of a website. Have had a read through the forums but as Im only able to access on my old phone, this is quite a task! Id appreciate if anyone has the time to read and advise. We are looking at purchasing a 4.84 ha (just under 12 acres/48400 square meters) property located near Broadwater Far North NSW. Ex cane farm, nothing but grass has grown on it in 15-20 years. Type of grass im unsure, am in the process of finding out but is totally covered. Soil is a mix of sandy and clay loam right opposite the Richmond River. Annual rainfall is between 1.3 to 1.5m. Monthly falls range from 55mm sept to a max of 171mm in march. Pretty consistent year round. Of course these are averages. Being sub tropical temps range from winter aves of 10ish to 20ish. Summer aves 18 to 28. We do get days in the mid 30's regularly in summer. Over night winter temps can get down to low single figures, but is usually mild. This is a lifestyle choice for us... I have a full time evening job so this property isnt designed to deliver a full time income stream. It is currently zoned Ru1. Currently unfenced and surrounded on three sides by cane farms. The front has a permanent creek. Our aim is to grow meat for our freezer, vegetables, fruit, eggs, bees etc We would like to introduce a little 4 cabin or so farmstay down the track. The rough mud map I have drawn up has an area 145 x 145 (21025 square meter/5.2 acre) divided into 4 equal paddocks to the rear of the property. We want to grow 2 rows of hardwood around the two sides and rear of the paddocks, bordering on our neighbors farms, both for privacy and a source of firewood in the future. We would like to rotate through the various paddocks. We plan on having a couple of hives in the back corners. Help with pollination of our fruit trees and for honey (father in law works for a local bee farmer) In front of that we plan on an area 16 x 125 divides into 3 paddocks for pigs. We plan on rehabilitating the creek and using the front half for the house block, fruit trees, chooks etc Bearing in mind that any extra income is a bonus the questions I have are; We also would like the animals to be pasture fed where possible, but will whats best for them. On an area that size, how many head can i run. We want to be able to fput meat in our feezer and off sell the rest, covering costs with hopefully a little bit over. We want to buy in weaners and sell when ready. What would be best weight to sell at? We are undecided about running a couple of lambs/sheep for the exact same purpose, thoughts? Given that (according to my research, I could be wrong ;)) it takes 6 months or so to grow a pig to porker weight, so the pig paddocks will be empty 5 or so months a year, how many pigs could we carry? Again want freezer meat with any extras sold on. I havent really done any research yet on chooks, but we want a good supply of eggs with some birds for meat. Best breeds? Any help would be most appreciated or any suggestions for further reading online? Open to any ideas oe feedback at all, positive negative or simply dont be a fool! Thanks in advance, Adam agw2478@gmail.com
