Hi all from central Victoria

My wife and I have 50 acres 23 pastures the rest bush . Have been working for 10 months just cleaning up ( trimming trees cutting grass getting rid of bits pipe and steel) l would like to thank every body for there questions and answers as it helped me heaps. All the best to every body

Hi Enterj65,

 

Thank you, great to be appreciated. I think I speak for all of us on the Farmstyle site, when I say, it's our pleasure to share what we have learnt in our years on the land. I have found over the years that I have learned as much from my mistakes (disasters?) as I have from my successes.

 

 We on the land have to deal with dingos, drought, flood, fire and poor markets, or even wombats (adorable though they may be) barging through and wrecking the fence:  folk in the city ask, why do we bother? I think it's the life style. The pleasure of seeing your first truckload of produce going off to market, or the sight of your first lambs or calves of the season on the ground. Or, to sit on the veranda with a mate, a cuppa in your hand, looking out over the paddocks after a hard days work, while you listen to magpies carrolling. No traffic noise, no car exhausts, just peace. For me, that's my idea of heaven.
