Where can I find soil maps?

Hi there.

I've tried searching Google and found a few pay-for services and a few others which I can't seem to get working. Is there an easy way to see some basic soil type maps for certain areas in, say, NSW?

Hi Hamond,

you can try this link for the Dept of the Environment:  http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/soils/

You may need to copy and paste the link into your browser.

Or just copy and paste this link into your browser:  http://mapdata.environment.nsw.gov.au/geonetwork/srv/en/main.home  which will take you straight to the page you need.

On the left hand side of the page that opens you will see a map of NSW divided into areas,  drag the hand on the tool bar at the top of the map to your area and click on it. That should should open up the soil map for the area. Hope this helps.
