Fattening steers

Hi,
I’m new to this forum. I’m situated in South east SA. I have very basic farming knowledge. I’m looking at diversifying into small scale farming. I’ve found 200 acres which I’m interested in to start me off. Half of the property is flat with good soil and natural grasses. The other half is sandy hills but properties alongside have good lucerne crops through this soil. It has good water to a tank on the hill and then fed to troughs. There are no cattle yards or sheds. I’m thinking of getting in young steers to fatten and then sell on ?? Also some lucerne crops for hay ?? I really need to know if I can make enough money out of this to pay its way and a bit in my pocket ?? What would a small steer cost to buy, keep, fatten, and then sell ? Could I make extra from selling lucerne hay ? How long can I keep growing lucerne and bale it in the same paddock ?
Any advice/knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Also, how many steers could/should I run year in year out ? Thanks
