This program provides a discount of $0.76 each (incl GST) for 2025 NLIS-accredited white eID devices when purchased from a retailer or manufacturer until 31 October 2025 (or until funds are exhausted). This includes eID tags and leg bands.
To access the program:
- Purchase white 2025 NLIS-accredited devices (tags or leg bands) from your preferred retailer before 31 October 2025.
- Select eID devices that are species-specific for sheep or goats, ensuring they are compatible with the livestock type you have.
- Obtain pre-approval if you require more than 3500 devices under the program.
How do I know if I need to obtain pre-approval?
- Pre-approval is only required for orders of more than 3500 devices
Important things to note:
- Only 2025 NLIS-accredited white eID devices (eID tags and leg bands) are discounted.
- The discount can be applied on one order per PIC for orders under 3500. Multiple orders are allowed for orders greater than 3500 devices, with pre-approval.
- The $10.2 million fund has been designed using the best available industry estimates of the number of lambs and kids projected to be born in NSW in 2025 to ensure producers across NSW will benefit.
- However, it is possible that funds will be exhausted within the program prior to the end date. Accordingly, it is recommended that producers purchase their eID devices as soon as lamb or kid numbers are known.
- Please note that to ensure bulk orders are required for business purposes NSW DPIRD will conduct background checks on pre-approval requests using Annual Stock and Land Return data.
- eID devices are coded for sheep, goats and other livestock and can only be used for the type of livestock they are coded for in the NLIS database. Please ensure you ask for eID devices that are specific to the species you are purchasing for.
