I have been away and have just noticed that you haven't had a reply to your question. As you live in Queensland you will be subject to the forestry protection laws. Before you can set up an agricultural project you will need to find out about what forestry zoning your property has. You can get this information from DERM Qld primary industries. Naturally if the property is heavily timbered then it would be difficult to grow anything in the ground without being able to clear some of the area. If you wanted to set up hydroponics and shade houses then you could use solar lighting to overcome the lack of sunlight from a dense overhead canopy.
